News on the Farm Ed. 23

Hello!

Brunch, Blooms & the Buzz of Spring

It’s been a rainy, refreshing few weeks here in the mountains—and the farm is loving it. The hills are starting to glow green again, the garden is waking up, and the alpacas are enjoying long, slow days in the pasture (minus a lot of fleece—we’ll get to that).
We’re in that sweet, calm stretch between the cooler rains of spring and the busier days of summer, and it feels like a good time to catch you up on what’s been happening here since the Grand Opening.

A Look Back at the Grand Opening

We mentioned our Grand Opening a bit in our last newsletter, but we believe it—and all the amazing pictures we got—deserves another moment to shine. Despite some cloudy skies, we had an amazing turnout for our Alpaca Homecoming party—and it meant the world to us to see so many of you show up to celebrate this new chapter with us.
There was music, local vendors, alpaca treats, and a scavenger hunt-turned masquerade that ended in lots of laughs. It felt like a real community moment, and it reminded us why we’re opening this land up in the first place: to connect with people and create shared experiences.
Thank you to everyone who came, helped, or sent a kind message. We’re off and running, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

The Boys Got Sheared

Just after the party, our herd had their annual shearing. If you’ve never seen a freshly-shorn alpaca, it’s… something. They go from soft and fluffy to lean and a little awkward-looking in a matter of minutes—but it’s necessary and healthy. Shearing keeps them cool for the warmer months and gives us the fiber we use for our yarn and other products.
Everyone handled it like champs (we think the snacks helped). They’re now strutting around a little breezier, and their fleece is off to be spun into something as soft as an alpaca hug.

Brunch with the Alpacas is Back (and Better Than Ever)

We’re thrilled to announce that our Brunch with the Alpacas experience is back for the season—and it’s the best it’s ever been.
Here’s what to expect:

  • A fresh, locally sourced brunch served in the pasture or our gathering space (weather depending), with views of the pasture.
  • Time to meet, feed, and hang out with the alpacas—yes, you can give them treats.
  • Guided introductions to the herd (plus a few fun facts).
  • Plenty of time and space for photos, relaxing, and connecting.

It’s one of our most popular offerings for good reason—come for the food, stay for the fluffy chaos. You can find all the details and book your spot on our website. The boys are so excited to show off their new haircuts for you 🤭

A Sneak Peek at the Cottage

You think the outside is charming? Wait until we reveal what’s on the inside!

Our farmstay cottage is just about ready—and we’re so excited to finally share it with you soon!
With views of the alpaca pasture and nearby pond, this cozy two-bedroom, one-bath home is perfect for a weekend getaway, a newlywed couple looking for a quiet retreat, or anyone wanting to slow down and soak in farm life. Guests also have access to our on-property sauna and cold plunge, as well as hiking trails that wind through the surrounding woods and fields.
Whether you’re here for the alpacas or just in need of a little peace and quiet, we can’t wait to welcome you.

Garden Update: Growing with Purpose
With the spring rains working their magic, our garden is bursting into life. Stella, our dedicated garden manager, has been busy planting everything from hearty kale and spinach to vibrant flowers and crunchy cucumbers. This year, we’re embracing the spirit of experimentation, focusing on nurturing the soil and exploring what thrives in our unique space. While we’re not aiming to fill the farm stand just yet, it’s a time for us to reconnect with nature and see what the season brings. It’s been a true labor of love, and we’re excited to share these garden-grown moments with you in the future.
