Nestled in the lustrous Blue Ridge Mountains, Durrant Farms Estate is a boutique farm and wedding venue located just 25 minutes outside of Asheville. Since the summer of 2025, we’ve had the honor of hosting heartfelt, nature-centered celebrations that feel both elevated and deeply grounded in place.
If you’re considering a wedding at Durrant Farms Estate, this guide aims to walk you through the land and let you know what to expect, what to plan for, and the questions we’re most often asked — all to help you envision whether our estate is the right home for your wedding day.
A True Outdoor Wedding Experience in the Blue Ridge Mountains
Durrant Farms Estate can host weddings with up to 200 guests, making it well-suited for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Our farm offers expansive mountain views, open skies, and thoughtfully designed spaces that allow your wedding to unfold naturally throughout the day.
Ceremony Locations
Couples most often choose our Pondside ceremony site, which overlooks a pristine, tree-lined pond with sweeping mountain views in every direction. The setting feels serene, romantic, and unmistakably Appalachian.
For couples drawn to a more woodland feel, our Woodland Meadow offers an alternative ceremony space surrounded by native blooms throughout spring, summer, and fall.
Reception Options
Our open-air pavilion serves as a central gathering space on the farm. It includes:
- Two bathrooms
- A prep kitchen with full access for caterers
- Seating for up to 60 guests (or ~75 standing)
The pavilion is ideal for smaller receptions, rehearsal dinners, cocktail hours, or as a dance floor hub for larger weddings.
For guest counts over 65, we partner with professional rental companies to install event tents on our great lawn, just a short walk from the ceremony site. This allows larger celebrations to remain seamless while preserving the open, outdoor feel of the estate.
On-Site Accommodations & Getting Ready Spaces
One of the hallmarks of a wedding at Durrant Farms Estate is the ability to stay on the land and truly settle in.
The Cottage
Our cozy two-bedroom, one-bath cottage offers ample getting-ready space and can sleep up to four guests. It’s often used as a bridal or groom suite and may be included in select packages or added on as an overnight stay.
The Bachelor’s Container Home
Our converted shipping container home features two bedrooms and one bathroom and is designed as a relaxed, communal space — perfect for a getting ready space or overnight stays.
Amenities Cove & Camping
For adventurous couples and guests, our Amenities Cove includes:
- A cedar cabin–style sauna
- A controlled-temperature cold tub
- Camping for up to 40 guests (approximately 10 campsites)
We also offer a full-hookup RV site that looks out to the alpaca pasture for family members traveling with their home on wheels.
What’s Included With Your Venue Rental
Every wedding package at Durrant Farms Estate includes access to:
- 6’ tables, chairs, and high-top cocktail tables
- White linens
- An assortment of rugs
- 12 3’ tall lanterns
- Lawn games (cornhole, croquet, horseshoes)
- Fire pit with wood and starter
- On-site shuttle service before the ceremony and as the reception winds down
- Trash service and light cleanup assistance throughout the event
Optional Add-Ons to Personalize Your Day
Couples often enhance their wedding experience with one or more of our optional offerings:
- Artisan s’mores package
- Custom signage package
- Day-of coordinator (required for weddings of 50+ guests)
- Additional overnight accommodations
- Alpaca ring bearer
- Alpaca meet-and-greet (up to 40 guests)
- Brunch with the alpacas
- Additional event staff
Alpacas live on the farm and will be a part of your day, and all guests enjoy fence-line access with treats provided.
Vendor Policies & Planning Support
We maintain a preferred vendors list for couples who want trusted local recommendations, while still offering an open vendor policy. Durrant Farms Estate functions as the venue itself — couples are free to build their vendor team in a way that reflects their vision, whether that means leaning on experienced professionals or keeping things beautifully simple.
Flexibility & Vision
Above all, we are a flexible and supportive venue. Some couples arrive with a fully realized vision and a complete vendor team; others prefer a more open, intuitive approach. Our land is designed to hold a wide range of possibilities, and we’re happy to offer guidance and resources — or step back and let your plans unfold — depending on what feels most aligned for you.
A day-of coordinator is required for weddings with 50+ guests
Caterers receive full access to our prep kitchen
Beer and wine are permitted
Liquor requires a Buncombe County special event permit, which is simple to obtain
Music & Sound Ordinance
In accordance with Buncombe County sound ordinances and respect for our neighbors:
- All amplified music must end by 10:00 PM
- DJs, live bands, or our on-site mic and speaker setup are all allowed
Weather, Seasons & Backup Plans
Durrant Farms Estate is a mostly outdoor wedding venue, which allows the land to shine but does require thoughtful planning.
- Our pavilion has pull-down walls and propane heaters for cooler evenings, but it is not centrally heated
- All ceremony locations are outdoors
- Weather backup options include the pavilion or event tent
- In extreme weather, we’re open to discussing rescheduling
Because of these factors, we offer off-season pricing for couples who are flexible with dates and comfortable embracing the beauty — and occasional ruggedness — that winter brings.
Guest Logistics: Parking, Shuttles & Lodging
Parking is located in a field about a 5–7 minute walk from the main event spaces. To ensure accessibility:
- We run an on-site shuttle before the ceremony
- Shuttles resume as the reception winds down
Guests can stay on the farm in on-site accommodations or choose from nearby hotels and Airbnbs. Downtown Asheville is just 20 minutes away.
Rehearsals & Engagement Photos
We offer beautiful spaces for rehearsal dinners, though not all packages include rehearsal access.
Engagement photo sessions on the land are included with our Timeless Day, Ever After, and Forever Weekend packages.

Booking Your Wedding at Durrant Farms Estate

- A contract and invoice are issued upon booking
- A 25% non-refundable deposit reserves your date
- Remaining payments can be made in up to three additional installments
