Spring on the Horizon: What’s Happening at Durrant Farms Estate
As the winds of March sweep through the farm, we’re embracing both the challenges and the excitement this season brings. From new adventures to unexpected obstacles, we’ve been busy navigating it all—and we’ve got some updates, some heartfelt news, and a few exciting opportunities to share with you. So grab a cup of something warm, and let’s dive into all that’s been happening here at Durrant Farms Estate!
The Fiber That Started It All: Our First Yarn Release!

Big news, yarn lovers: we’ve officially launched our first-ever alpaca yarn made from the boys’ very first shearing in April of 2024! There’s something incredibly special about this first harvest—it’s a labor of love, and we’re so excited to offer it to you. Soft, cozy, and with a touch of alpaca magic, this yarn is perfect for any of your upcoming craft projects. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newbie with knitting needles, this yarn will add a warm, local touch to your creations. You can find our boy’s oh-so-soft fiber on our online farm storenow. But hurry, we have a limited supply, and we’d love for you to have a chance to work with it before it’s gone!
A Few Bumps in the Road: Some Tough News

As much as we try to keep things light and fun, we’d be remiss not to share some of the more difficult moments from the past month. Sometimes the wind doesn’t just blow our hair back—it knocks a few things down too.
Unfortunately, our greenhouse didn’t fare well in the high winds, and it’s left us with a lot of cleanup and repairs ahead of us. But we’re not giving up! We’ll be rebuilding and working on getting our plants back in the ground as soon as possible.
We also have some sad news. Our beloved goose, Ryan Gosling, is missing. We haven’t seen her for a while, and while we’re holding onto hope that she’s off on some wild goose adventure, we suspect she may have met an untimely fate. We’re going to miss her quirky personality and the sound of her honk as she waddled around the farm. This is our first animal loss on the farm and it’s been hard on all of us. Ryan waddled her way into the hearts of all that knew her and she will be missed.
