🥰A Cozy Goodbye to December & a Look Back at a Beautiful Year

Happy New Year Friend. 🤍

As January arrives and December settles gently into memory, we’ve been taking a moment to pause — to look back at the year behind us and feel into everything it held. This past year stretched us in the best ways, rooted us more deeply into the land, and reminded us again and again why we do this work and what we’re creating here. Before we leap ahead into what’s next, we wanted to reflect, celebrate, and say thank you for being part of it all.

❄️ Alpaca Wonderland Winter Market: Wow, wow, and WOW

On December 13th, the farm truly sparkled. Our first-ever Alpaca Wonderland Winter Market was everything we hoped it would be — and more. Seeing so many of you wandering the land, sipping warm drinks, laughing with friends, and soaking in the holiday cheer absolutely filled our hearts.

This day marked the first of many public events to come, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible vendors who showed up with such care, creativity, and festive spirit. Thank you for being part of this milestone moment and helping us bring this vision to life. The land felt alive in the most magical way, and we’re still riding that glow.

Check out this reel to see a bit of the holiday magic that unfolded:

🦙 Meet Macey (and Winona!)

We’re also excited to welcome Macey to the farm team. She’s our new alpaca handler and works closely with the boys every day, making sure they’re healthy, comfortable, and well cared for. Her consistency and care have already made a big difference.

You’ll often see her alongside her puppy, Winona, who has quickly become part of the team as well. Winona keeps us on our toes and brings a lot of joy (and energy!) to the workday — we’re lucky to have them both around.

✨ 2025: A Year in Review

This year brought so many exciting milestones:

  • We celebrated our grand opening party in March, officially welcoming guests onto the farm.
  • We entered the wedding world for the first time and hosted 8 weddings throughout the summer and fall — celebrating so many beautiful connections on the land.
  • We broke ground on our flower garden and planted bulbs all across the property.
  • We opened The Cottage for overnight rentals.
  • We’re grateful for an incredibly healthy herd all year long.
  • We had our most successful brunch season yet, and we’re excited to keep improving and expanding Brunch with the Alpacas.
  • We built our sauna and began the process of hooking up our converted container home, which will serve as overnight lodging and a getting-ready space for wedding parties.
  • We planted trees to honor all that was lost in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene on the 1 year anniversary.

It’s been a busy, full, and meaningful year, and we’re proud of everything that took shape.

🌱 Looking Ahead

As we move into the new year, there’s a lot to be excited about:

  • We’re thrilled for all the weddings already on the books for 2026, and for the many more still to come.
  • We’re looking forward to continuing to expand our pollinator garden, flower garden, and beginning to plant our orchard.
  • We’re also very excited about coming events we’ve been cooking up and can’t wait to share more soon.

Beyond specific plans, we’re simply excited to keep growing this business and deeply grateful for the incredible support we feel at every turn.

As we settle into winter’s quieter rhythm, we just want to say thank you — for visiting, celebrating, supporting, and believing in this place. This farm continues to grow because of the community, and we’re endlessly grateful to be walking this path with you.

Until next time — stay cozy, stay gentle, and give a little extra love to the land wherever you are.

With full hearts,

The Durrant Farms Team
